CESSEZ LES CRIMES DE
GUERRE!
Pour que la sécurité puisse exister
il faut mettre fin à l'occupation!

Le Parti communiste d'Israël (PCI) dénonce le gouvernement Sharon, qui a
intensifié sa guerre sanglante contre le peuple palestinien et surtout
contre les habitants palestiniens de la Bande de Gaza.
Au cours du mois de septembre, l'armée israélienne a tué une centaine
d'habitants palestiniens et continue à tuer, à démolir des maisons et à
arrêter des personnes.
Le Parti communiste d'Israël s'oppose aux meurtres de civils, tant
israéliens que palestiniens, et considère comme acte de pure hypocrisie
l'utilisation par le gouvernement Sharon et par l'Armée israélienne de
la mort de civils, entre autres de deux bébés dans la ville de Sderot,
pour justifier la reprise de l'occupation des certaines zones de la
Bande de Gaza et le meurtre de dizaines de Palestiniens, entre autres
d'écoliers dans leurs salles de classe.
Les tirs indiscriminés des chars d'assaut et des hélicoptères
israéliens, qui caratérisent ce que Sharon nomme le "plan de
désengagement", sont intimement liés à celui-ci.
Les porte-paroles de l'armée israélienne ont déjà qualifié les meurtres
et les destructions perpétrés dans la Bande de Gaza comme un "paiement
avancé pour l'évacuation".
Les attaques d'intimidation menées par l'Armée israélienne en
préparation du "désengagement" nous montrent une fois de plus que
lorsque Sharon parle d'"évacuation", il prépare en fait d'autres crimes
de guerre visant à anéantir les aspirations du peuple palestinien à
cesser de vivre sous l'occupation et à réaliser son indépendance
nationale à coté d'Israël.

Le Parti communiste d'Israël lance un appel à toutes les personnes
aimant la paix, aux Juifs et aux Arabes, pour que l'on dénonce les
crimes de l'occupation et que l'on exige le retrait immédiat de l'armée
israélienne de toutes les régions de la Bande de Gaza placées sous la
juridiction de l'Autorité palestinienne.
Le Parti communiste d'Israël insiste sur le fait que la sécurité et la
paix ne peuvent être réalisées que par la cessation de l'occupation
israélienne, par l'évacuation de toutes les colonies israéliennes, par
l'instauration d'un État palestinien indépendant à côté d'Israel, par
l'établissement de deux capitales à Jérusalem et par la résolution de la
question des réfugiés conformément aux résolutions des Nations Unies.

The Way To Achieve Security Is By
Termination of The Occupation!

The CPI.denunciates Sharon's government, which has aggravated the bloody
war against the Palestinian People, especially against the Palestinian
inhabitants in the Gaza Strip.
During the month of September, the Israeli Army killed some 100
Palestinian inhabitants and is now continuing
In its killing pursuit, demolishing of houses and performing arrests..
The CPI objects killing of Israel and Palestinian civilians alike. But
regards as sheer hypocrisy on behalf of Sharon's government and Israeli
Army the exploitation of the death of civilians, among them two babies,
in the town of Sderot to justify the renewal of occupation of parts of
Gaza Strip and the killing of tens of Palestinians, among them pupils in
their school classes.
The shooting without distinction of Israeli tanks and helicopters of
whatever Sharon calls "The Disengagement Plan". It is impossible to
disconnect
The killing and the destruction in Gaza Strip were already defined by
Israeli Army spokesmen as an "advanced payment of the evacuation".
The intimidation attack, waged by the Israeli Army in preparation for
the "Disengagement" teaches us ones more' hat when Sharon speaks of
"Evacuation", he is preparing more war crimes' aiming at elimination the
aspiration of the Palestinian People to stop living under occupation and
achieve their national independence alongside Israel.

CPI calls upon all peace lovers, Jews and Arabs, to denounce the crimes
of occupation and to demand the immediate pullout of the Israeli Army
from all parts of the Gaza Strip, being under the control of the
Palestinian Authority.
CPI emphasizes once more, that security and peace can be achieved only
by putting an end to Israeli occupation, evacuation of all Israeli
settlements' establishing an Palestinian independent state alongside
Israel, establishing two Capitals in Jerusalem, and solving the
Refugees' question according to UN resolutions.

STOP SHARON'S PARTNER-IN-CRIME FROM VISITING SOUTH AFRICA.



The Palestine Solidarity Committee calls upon the South African government to cancel the invitation to Deputy Prime Minister of Apartheid Israel, Ehud Olmert, to visit South Africa. Olmert is scheduled to have talks with state officials, supporters of Apartheid Israel and business people in two weeks time. Olmert's proposed visit comes in the wake of meetings between ten senior Likud Party representatives and South African officials and Cabinet Ministers.



According to an official statement, the South African government views Olmert's trip as part of 'mediatory' efforts to bring peace to the Middle East. Our scepticism of this intention is increased by a number of press reports which inform us that Olmert's visit is really to seek to "cement economic ties between the states [South Africa and Israel] via a protection of investment treaty". Olmert also hold the trade portfolio in the Israeli cabinet.Far from promoting peace, Olmert's visit will merely give credibility and legitimacy to Apartheid Israel .



The PSC finds the invitation to Olmert deplorable. Palestinians and supporters of justice around the world have just commemorated the 22nd anniversary of the Sabra and Shatilla massacre of 3 000 largely women and child Palestinian refugees in Beirut (even an Israeli court found that Sharon was complicit in this). This week marks the fourth anniversary of the second intifada (uprising) against the Israeli occupation. Occupation Forces continue to massacre Palestinians with helicopter gunship missiles and tank shells. The latest outrage is in the poverty stricken Jabalya refugee camp in the Gaza where scores of civilians have been killed and many homes destroyed.



According to B'tselem, an Israeli human rights group, the occupation forces have killed over 500 children since September 2000. >From the beginning of this year, over 400 unarmed Palestinian civilians have been killed. B'tselem's report underscored Israel's comprehensive war against Palestinian society, including the demolition of homes and the wanton destruction of farms, orchards and infrastructure as well the sweeping internment of Palestinian civilians for long periods of time and general collective punishment. According to the report, Israel now interns some 8000 Palestinians under appalling conditions, including 360 children and minors. Moreover, the report pointed out that as many as 7000 Palestinian homes were destroyed by the Israeli army during the past four years. These are crimes against humanity!



During the darkest days of apartheid, Nelson Mandela refused P.W. Botha’s offer of freedom in exchange for the Bantustan sytem and the renunciation of the armed struggle. Madiba understood the futility of such an engagement with Botha. International condemnation and isolation of South Africa, combined with mass internal resistance, ensured that negotiations with the National Party began with the release of political prisoners, the right of return for exiles and on the premise that democracy would take root. To suggest that the current Israeli regime seeks a similar solution is preposterous. Israel continues the building of the Apartheid Wall (in violation of the ruling of the International Court of Justice which our government played an active role in securing), stealing more Palestinian land and leaving the citizens of the West Bank and Gaza in a Bantustan system of hellish prisons.




Our government needs to know that Olmert was one of the Zionist extremists who opposed even the flawed Oslo Accords as he feared they might one day lead to a Palestinian state. As mayor of Jerusalem he oversaw the construction of many settlements (illegal under international law) and declared that the city would remain “united under Israeli control for eternity” (also illegal). That South Africa should entertain Likud, a vicious racist party which makes the AWB during its heyday look moderate is a disturbing development in our country.



The importance of building an international movement to help defeat Apartheid South Africa is a lesson we now apply to Israel. Engaging with Sharon and a Likud administration bent on the elimination of the remaining Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza is damaging to any prospects for peace. It merely legitimises the current Israeli government and gives credence to the idea that Israel can make peace without the international isolation, sanctions and boycotts which were so vital to the South African experience. And that it can impose a ‘peace’ without even having to discuss it with the Palestinian people. What Sharon and his gang really want is the 'peace' of the graveyard.



Two weeks ago, at a gathering of anti-war and anti-corporate globalisation movements in Beirut, close to 260 organisations from 54 countries unanimously endorsed a boycott campaign against Apartheid Israel. Recently, the Anglican Peace and Justice Network (APJN) agreed to support the many churches, universities and trade unions in the West that are increasingly calling for a divestment campaign modelled on the popular boycott of apartheid South Africa. APJN said it would press leaders of the 75 million Anglicans and Episcopalians worldwide to impose sanctions on Israel after an eight-day visit to the occupied territories. In July, the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States which has 3 million members, voted overwhelmingly for a boycott of Israel. Some Scandinavian churches are also pressing for a boycott of Israeli goods. The South African government which should be in the lead in promoting a sanctions campaign against Israel is instead working against this. It is squandering the moral high ground earned by our people through great sacrifice. We urge our government to rescind its invitation to Sharon's Deputy.



We will hold protests on 16th October across South Africa to highlight our solidarity with Palestinians under occupation and in the diaspora and to oppose Olmert’s visit to our country.

Urgent Appeal
For the last 48 hours, the Union of Health Work Committees (UHWC), medical facilities are in state of top emergency in the northern governorate of Gaza Strip.

The medical teams are working continuously to cope with the increasing no. of causalities, due to massive Israelis forces incursion to the northern governorate especially Jabalia.

The Israeli tanks Helicopters and different Military forces are attacking the area through four main sectors. The Israeli forces are demolishing houses, destroying infrastructure and bulldozing trees at the same time they snap every moving target disregarding if being a child, women, old man or youth.

The chicken farms and different animal farms had their share in destruction, e.g. a chicken farm at Abed Rabuh Quarter in Jabalia has been completely bulldozed at this morning.

Al – Awda Hospital received till this moment 42 injured people, 17 of them are under 15 years old, 8 women, in addition to 8 martyrs (most of the injuries are due to explosive pullets). Another governmental hospital in the same area has received tens of causalities also.

UHWC, Al-Quds Medical Center in Beit – Hanoun has been working 24 hours/ day to cover the expected increasing number of casualties and to offer other medical emergencies because Beit – Hanoun has been isolated from the rest of Gaza Strip.



Al-Assria (Al-Luhiedan) Medical Center – Jabalia refugees camp is now at the middle of battle, the Israeli tanks and snappers are just 50 meters away from the center, all the other health and community activities of Al-Luhiedan Community Health Center have been hanged up as it works as a front first aid medical center.



The first aid medical teams and the ambulance service of the UHWC (138 volunteers men and women) are working day and night to rescue and evacuate the injured people. At the same time they offer some highly needed medical and food supplies.



UHWC teams who are doing all this call all International and human rights organization, Red Cross, United Nations, and all those who are seeking just peace in the area to urgently interfere to stop this massacre against our Palestinian people. At the same time to pressure on the Israeli government to stop its harassments against the medical teams and civilians.

antimondialisation
Beyrouth, Liban - 17 -19 septembre 2004.

Nous, délégués de mouvements sociaux, d'organisations, de partis politiques,
de réseaux et de coalitions de 43 pays qui luttons pour une paix et une justice globales,
engagés pour l'égalité, la solidarité et la diversité. Nous venons d'Amérique Latine, d'Amérique du
Nord, d'Asie et du Pacifique, d'Afrique, du Moyen-Orient et d'Europe et nous sommes engagés
dans nos propres campagnes et luttes contre la militarisation, la nucléarisation, les
bases américaines et la mondialisation libérale.
Réunis à Beyrouth dans un moment critique de l'histoire, nous saluons et

Internet Outreach Coordinator and English-Language Editor
for the Grassroots Palestinian Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign
The grassroots Palestinian campaign against the Apartheid Wall being built by Israel inside the Occupied West Bank is the Palestinian popular and non-governmental campaign against the Wall which began in October 2002, just months after the Wall’s inception. The Campaign, which is made-up of some 50 local committees, with the coordinating office being located in Jerusalem, coordinates area activities in affected communities, does national and international outreach, and is the main source of information on the Wall. The Campaign also runs the main online resource on the Apartheid Wall at www.stopthewall.org
The position of Internet Outreach and Language Editor, which will be the main person responsible over outreach, contact building and online exposure for the Campaign abroad, includes the following main tasks:
• Website Content Support: English language editing for all website material; updating the English site content including editing news pieces, online searching/gathering, writing for certain sections and reviewing material already on the site.
• English Language Editing: Review and edit English language material including website content, press releases, statements, small and large publications, etc.
• Outreach Campaign / Syndication Program: Central to Campaign exposure. Contact people and groups online, expand mailings lists and establish new ones, maintain contacts, utilize the internet as an outreach medium such as getting other sites to link and syndicate. All of this work means increasing site traffic and expanding Campaign ties and solidarity. Important to outreach is ability to analyze the website, its sections and traffic. Outreach also includes establishing and maintaining ties with Campaign volunteers/activists internationally.
• General Contact Follow-up: part of outreach. Responding to central Campaign email addresses, as well as directing them and establishing means of follow-up that facilitate involvement of individuals and groups contacting the Campaign.
• Email List Building: part of outreach. Lists need to be built in relation to various groups, counties, media, etc. Includes research and making form-letters, initial contacts, and maintaining ties.
• Production and Support in Outreach Material Production along with other Campaign team members of promotional/activist material (flyers for mailings, popular fundraising, events, etc.).
• E-Newsletter Editor: Weekly Campaign e-newsletter. Compile material and edit. Provide suggestions for changes and implement to ensure best usage of and interest in the newsletter.
• Book Outreach: Supporting in dissemination of Campaign publications, such as the book The Wall in Palestine. A list should be generated of potential solidarity groups, bookstores, and other contacts for Book Outreach. Contacting groups which received large shipment of books to see how work is going, if they need more resources, etc.
• Internet Outreach Evaluations and Strategizing: Regular analysis of website and
newsletter statistics. Compiling means of collecting and analyzing information related to outreach is order to evaluate work done. Supporting in website development in relation to proposing layout, content, and other changes to increase effectiveness of the internet as an outreach medium.
• Photo Archive: writing and editing text descriptions for photos. Promoting the Photo Archive in outreach, especially to media and activists.
• Media Outreach: Internet media outreach through research, list building, sending out regular information, updating lists periodically, etc. Modifying news into press releases. Putting together media info packets on the site, CDs, and in folders. List building includes interested radio stations and radio programs, tv worldwide, and list of all journalists that have already approached the Campaign. Overseeing volunteers willing to do local media outreach.
• Increase Campaign Volunteer Base: Working with Websites Coordinator and International Outreach on establishing and maintaining translation and language-website teams.
This position requires significant independent work along with working as part of a team composed of the Websites Coordinator and International Outreach Coordinator. This team will ensure effective implementation of work by merging of data collection, media outreach, information dissemination, and online advocacy.
The person that will fill this position is to meet the following requirements:
• Fluent in English, with experience in editing and strong writing skills
• Strong commitment to the Palestine and the Campaign call
• Previous work with organizing, internet campaigning, outreach, and coordination.
• Familiarity with the Internet as an outreach tool, with strong ideas on how to expand the Campaign reach.
• Multi-tasked and able to work in a high pressure environment and as part of a team.
• Responsible and self-motivated to get work completed, initiate new ideas, and produce high quality work
• Critical thinking and able to grasp various arguments, and articulate them.
• Flexible hours and able to work under emergency schedule
The following are not required but are desirable:
• Knowledge of Palestinian history and previous visit to Palestine
• Website building and maintenance experience
• Keen sense of design and layout
• Familiarity with desktop publishing
The qualified person will be asked to give a minimum of three months full time (longer period encouraged) to the Campaign, and be based out of the Campaign office in Jerusalem. Though the Campaign does not have substantial funding for salaries, it will provide housing for the period of the position and a $200 monthly stipend. The Internet Outreach and English Editor will also go with the campaign staff on a minimum twice-monthly visits to Wall affected areas.

for the Grassroots Palestinian Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign:
Stop the Wall in Palestine!
The grassroots Palestinian campaign against the Apartheid Wall being built by Israel inside the Occupied West Bank is the Palestinian popular and non-governmental campaign against the Wall which began in October 2002, just months after the Wall’s inception. The Campaign, which is made-up of some 50 local committees, with the coordinating office being located in Jerusalem, coordinates area activities in affected communities, does national and international outreach, and is the main source of information on the Wall.
The Campaign also runs the main online resource on the Apartheid Wall at www.stopthewall.org
The Wall has of the past months, particularly following the decision of the International Court of Justice, received significant attention which the Campaign is determined to translate into momentum on behalf of the Campaign call to stop the wall and compensate for all losses. The Campaign therefore is in urgent need of support in relation to strengthening the Campaign infrastructure, raising much-needed funds for its varied activities, and continuing its ties with current supporters. There are also plans to build a larger movement for boycott and sanctions along with reinvigorating the anti-apartheid momentum of the past decades.
We are looking for someone that can support the Campaign in putting together a number of proposals to be sent to donors with whom the Campaign already has ties and those that the Campaign is initiating relations. The Campaign Fundraiser would need to bring together the plans, strategy documents, and past proposals into updated ones that can be sent out for urgent advocacy funding. This also includes report writing in relation to funds as well as outreach and relations with funders/supporters. The position will also require support in budgeting and bookkeeping. The Campaign Fundraiser will be responsible for the
overall Campaign fundraising and outreach in relation to current and potential funders, working together with the Campaign Coordinator.
The qualified person will be asked to give a minimum of three months full time (longer period encouraged) to the Campaign, and be based out of the Campaign office in Jerusalem. Though the Campaign does not have substantial funding for salaries, it will provide the Campaign Fundraiser with housing for the period of the position and a $200 monthly stipend. The Campaign Fundraiser will also go with the campaign staff on a minimum twice-monthly visits to Wall affected areas.

Los dias 3 y 4 de octubre 2004 se celebrerà en Caserta (Italia) la V Conferencia Euromediterranea de los Ministros de la Industria. Parteciperàn 25 ministros europeos y 10 de Africa y Asia. Objectivo principal es de renforzar el proceso de construccion de la area de libre intercambio concentrandose en la realizacion de una Carta Comun de las empresas en el Euromed. El movimento de Italia, gracias al compromiso de las organizaciones de Caserta y de la region Campania, no falterà de llevar la voz de l@s trabajador@s y de l@s ciudadan@s del mediteraneo en contra al projecto de emponer la ley neoliberal de guerra economica-social y militar en la area mediteranea. El dia 4 vamos a tener una marcha en occasion de la cumbre con la partecipacion de estendiantes, ciudadanos y de las redes de los migrantes que en esta area son numerosas y organizadas. CALL TO SEND LETTERS IN OCCASION OF THE SUMMIT OF EUROMED MINISTERS OF INDUSTRY

On the 3rd and 4th of October 2004 the V summit of the Mediterranean Industry Ministers will take place in Caserta (Italia). 25 European Ministers as well as 10 African and Asian ministers will attend. The main objective of the meeting is to strenghthen the construction process of a free trade area to be cemented around a common chart between industries of the euromed area. The Italian movement, thanks to the commitmemt of organization of both Caserta the Campania region, will insure that the voices of workers and citizens of the mediterranean region will be heard against the project of imposition of the neoliberal law of socio-economical and military war in the mediterranean. APPELLO AD INVIARE MESSAGGI IN OCCASIONE DEL V VERTICE DEI MINISTRI DELL’INDUSTRIA EUROMED

Il 3 e 4 ottobre si terrà a Caserta il V Vertice dei Ministri dell’Industria Euromed, con la partecipazione di 25 ministri europei e di dieci Africani ed Asiatici. Obiettivo dell’incontro è di rafforzare il processo di costruzione dell’Area di Libero Scambio nel Mediterraneo con la definizione di una Carta Comune delle imprese. Il movimento italiano, grazie all’impegno delle organizzazioni di Caserta e della Campania, non mancherà di far sentire la voce dei lavoratori e dei cittadini contro il tentativo di imporre in tutta l’area la nuova tappa della legge neoliberale di guerra economica-sociale e militare. Il giorno 4 si terrà una manifestazione con lavoratori, migranti, studenti e cittadini. relacionades amb la IV Assemblea preparatòria del FSMed que se celebrarà a
Màlaga els dies 24, 25 i 26 de setembre:

El 2 de septiembre, el alcalde de Porto Alegre, João Verle, ha entregado a la coordinación de la Oficina de Porto Alegre el informe de conclusión de los estudios de viabilidad técnica del territorio en el que se realizará el FSM 2005. Se ha encaminado el problema del hospedaje al Ministerio Público
Durante el último mes, la oficina del FSM en Porto Alegre ha realizado diversas reuniones con representates del sector hotelero y de oficinas de viaje de la ciudad, con el objetivo de llegar a un acuerdo que provea condiciones aceptables de hospedaje a los participantes. Algunos puntos ya ha sido acordados, pero todavía no se han ultimado las negociaciones (más).

1. ¡Consulta temática ya en línea!
Ya se dispone en el sitio www.consultafsm.org.br el cuestionario-consulta que inaugura el proceso de preparación el V Foro Socia Mundial (FSM), que sucederá en Porto Alegre, Brasil, entre el 26 y el 31 de enero de 2005. Cambios importantes marcan esa nueva etapa del proceso del FSM y, para ello la participación de todos/todas es fundamental. A través de ese cuestionario-consulta se identificarán qué luchas, cuestiones, problemas, propuestas y desafíos las diversas organizaciones que participan en el proceso FSM consideran importante ser discutidos en el FSM 2005, y qué actividades pretenden desarrollar en Porto Alegre.

En 2005, se busca mantener la diversidad del evento y transformarlo en un espacio cada vez más capaz de facilitar las articulaciones y acciones comunes entre los que en él participan. Para eso, es necesario perfeccionar tanto el proceso de definición de las "grandes actividades" (las Conferencias, Paneles, Testimonios y Mesas de Diálogo y Controversias, definidas por el Consejo Internacional), cuanto la inscripción de centenas de talleres y seminarios, que cualquier entidad inscripta para el encuentro puede proponer.

* Mayores posibilidades de aglutinación
Permitir que la gente y las organizaciones interesadas en luchar por los mismos objetivos puedan efectivamente encontrarse, articularse y planear acciones comunes durante los Foros Sociales Mundiales y entre ellos es tan importante cuanto preservar el compromiso con la pluralidad y la diversidad de ideas, luchas y proyectos, una característica fundamental del éxito del FSM. La consulta temática va a facilitar ese proceso de acercamiento. En completarla a través de la Internet, cada organización podrá saber con antelación cuáles luchas, cuestiones, problemas, propuestas o desafíos las demás organizaciones creen que sea importante debatir en el FSM o qué actividades ellas pretenden organizar durante el evento. Esas informaciones alimentarán un gran banco de datos al cual todos tendrán acceso. A través de ese banco, se podrá realizar diversas investigaciones para verificar lo que una determinada organización está proponiendo; o enumerar todas las organizaciones interesadas en realizar actividades sobre un determinado tema y conseguir sus contactos.

* Grupos aglutinadores:
A partir de julio, se constituirán grupos aglutinadores para tratar de los temas en los que hay gran concentración de actividades previstas – y, por lo tanto, el trabajo de unificación o articulación de Talleres y Seminarios es más complejo. Ellos se compondrán por las propias organizaciones interesadas en organizar Seminarios y Talleres sobre aquel asunto – o por una parte de ellas, de conformidad con las demás.

Su tarea será proponer, siempre de forma inclusiva y con respeto pleno a la diversidad, agendas de múltiplas actividades en Porto Alegre. A partir de las respuestas a la consulta, las comisiones de Metodología y de Contenidos y Temas del CI empezarán a contactar dada organización propondrán que formen grupos aglutinadores.

* Grandes actividades
Los grupos aglutinadores no se limitarán a proponer aglutinaciones y articulaciones entre Talleres y Seminarios que los participantes pretenden realizar. En 2005, las "grandes actividades" (Conferencias, Paneles, Testimonios y Mesas de Dialogo y Controversia),que eran definidas -hasta el 2003- sólo por el Consejo Internacional, se construirán a partir de las consultas.

* Se asegurarán la autonomía y la diversidad
Al registrar su actividad, lo que se podrá hacer a partir de septiembre, cada organización podrá usar como referencia de trabajo las primeras propuestas de agenda ya elaboradas por los diversos Grupos Aglutinadores, que empiezan a trabajar en julio. Se dispondrán esas propuestas de agenda, con destaque, en la página Web del Foro Social Mundial. Se podrá verificar si de veras se han incorporado las múltiplas visiones acerca de cada tema. Habrá tiempo para proponer eventuales añadiduras o cambios. Sin embargo, ninguna aglutinación se impondrá. Aquellos que quieran podrán mantener, durante todo el proceso, actividades no-aglutinadas, o aglutinadas sin la interferencia de los Grupos Aglutinadores.

2. Lanzamiento del Foro Social Mundial 2005
Más de 200 personas han participado en el debate "Porto Alegre 2005: nuevos desafíos en el proceso del FSM frente a la dominación y a la militarización neoliberal", que se ha realizado en el auditorio del Sindicato dos Engenheiros en São Paulo, el último 14 de junio y que ha marcado el lanzamiento de la quinta edición del Foro Social Mundial. El momento de transformación profunda por el cual pasa el proceso del FSM ha sido el foco principal de la actividad, que ha contado con la presencia de miembros del Secretariado Internacional, del Comité Organizador, del Consejo Internacional y del Comité Organizador del Foro Social Américas, que sucederá en el fin de julio de 2004. El debate ha marcado también el lanzamiento del sitio del cuestionario-consulta (www.consultafsm.org.br), el primer paso concreto de la nueva metodología de preparación del evento de 2005. Manteniendo la diversidad del evento, esa metodología busca transformarlo en un espacio cada vez más capaz de facilitar las articulaciones entre los participantes del proceso del FSM.

Joel Suárez, de la red Encuentros Hemisféricos contra el ALCA, hizo un breve panorama de las transformaciones por las cuales ha pasado el FSM desde su creación. Suárez ha destacado que, de la crítica al neoliberalismo, el FSM ha pasado a explicitar alternativas al capitalismo. Otro cambio fundamental ha sido la concepción del FSM no sólo como evento sino como proceso y la necesidad de internacionalización, que ha llevado a la decisión de hacerse el FSM 2004 en India y de trabajarse para la realización del FSM 2007 en África. "Ahora, había que darse el salto, respetando la Carta de Principios, desde la perspectiva de la sensibilización para la de acción".

"El FSM también es un proceso de aprendizaje y cambio. En ese sentido, él está en movimiento de ampliación", ha acordado Teivo Teivainen, de Network Institute for Global Democracy (NIGD). "Se puede pensar el FSM como un espacio que facilita la acción sin romper o desconsiderar el método del FSM".

Osvaldo León ha destacado el proceso de organización del FS Américas, que se realizará en Quito (Ecuador), entre el 25 y el 30 de julio de 2004, y la idea de se hacer paneles de convergencia al final del evento que permitan una mayor interlocución de iniciativas.

Los esclarecimientos respeto al nuevo proceso que se inaugura con el cuestionario-consulta han sido el tema del habla de Moema Miranda, coordinadora de Ibase e integrante del Secretariado Internacional del FSM. "La consulta buscará identificar no sólo las posibilidades de convergencia y articulación, sino los temas nuevos que nos unen, aunque tengamos divergencias con relación a ellos". A partir de esa consulta que se extraerá la serie de ejes temáticos del FSM, definición antes restricta a los miembros del comité organizador juntamente con el Consejo Internacional.

La nueva metodología tendrá también un reflejo directo en el diseño del evento en la ciudad. "Para 2005, la propuesta es la de que los participantes del FSM no sólo aprovechen el evento, sino que vivencien su construcción en una práctica y compromiso radical de cambio", ha dicho Miriam Nobre, integrante del comité organizador del FSM por la Marcha Mundial de las Mujeres, acordando que ese año la idea es llevar el evento a la orla del Guaíba, en Porto Alegre, y a la región central, buscando una mayor integración con la populación de la ciudad y con el Campamento Intercontinental de la Juventud.



3. Campamento de la Juventud en el FSM 2005
El Comité Organizador del Campamento de la Juventud se reunirá el próximo 19 de junio, en el Galpão da Guarda Parques, en Parque Harmonia, en Porto Alegre (Brasil). 4. Reunión en India
El Comité Organizador Indiano del FSM 2004 se reunirá en Bangalore (India), entre el 18 y el 20 de junio. La agenda del encuentro incluirá: evaluación del FSM 2004; informe sobre la reunión del Consejo Internacional del FSM (que ha ocurrido en Italia en abril pasado), y discusiones acerca de la continuidad del proceso del FSM en India y en el continente asiático.



5. Foro Social Américas
Más de 500 organizaciones de 43 países ya se han inscripto para participar en el FS Américas, evento que ocurrirá entre el 25 y el 30 de julio de 2004, en Quito, Ecuador. Para participar, basta con inscribirse en el sitio http://www.forosocialamericas.org. El plazo de inscripciones para organizaciones, individuos y prensa termina el 30 de junio. Aquellos que solicitaren modificación de los nombres de delegados después del 30 de junio tendrán que hacerlo en el momento de la acreditación, en Quito.
Acuérdense: el plazo de inclusión de informaciones en el formulario de eventos auto-gestionados termina el 21 de junio. Las fechas y los lugares de las actividades se confirmarán en el fin de junio.

La tasa de inscripción para cada organización es US$ 50 e incluye la participación de 1 delegado (para cada delegado extra hay que pagar US$ 25) y para individuos varia entre US$ 1 y US$ 5 (de acuerdo con las posibilidades del participante). Pronto se informará la forma de pago de la inscripción.

Lugar del evento
La grande mayoría de las actividades ocurrirá entre la Avenida 12 de Octubre y la Avenida Patria (Centro-Norte). El programa del FSA se divide en cinco ejes temáticos:
Eje 1 – El orden económico: empobrecimiento humano y ambiental, deudas, corrupción, mercado común; espacio público y derechos económicos; economía reproductiva. Resistencias, visiones de futuro y construcción de alternativas.
Eje 2 – La faz violenta del proyecto neoliberal: hegemonía imperial, militarismo, control estratégico de la biodiversidad, violencia de discriminación despreciativa en relación a un sexo en detrimento a otro. Las resistencias y el surgimiento de nuevos temas.
Eje 3 – Poder, democracia y Estado: cambios, permanencias y visiones de futuro.
Eje 4 – Culturas y comunicación: las resistencias, la memoria, la construcción de identidades; espacios y prácticas de creación; lenguajes críticos y alternativos; democratización de la comunicación.
Eje 5 – Pueblos indígenas y de ascendencia africana: territorios; autonomía; diversidad y pluriculturalidad; conocimientos y propiedad intelectual.

6. Fórum Social Europeu
La próxima Asamblea del Foro Social Europeo está prevista para suceder entre el 18 y el 20 de junio, en Berlín (Alemania). La última ha ocurrido en Estambul, Turquía, en abril. La proposición de actividades (seminarios y talleres) para el FSE, que sucederá entre el 15 y el 17 de octubre, en Londres (Reino Unido) ya ha empezado y debe extenderse hasta fines de julio. LANZAMIENTO DEL FORO SOCIAL MUNDIAL 2005

El próximo 14 de junio de 2004, tendrá lugar en el auditorio del Sindicato dos Engenheiros, en São Paulo, el lanzamiento de la quinta edición del Foro Social Mundial (FSM), que se realizará en Porto Alegre, entre el 26 y el 31 de enero de 2005. La actividad se marcará por el debate “Porto Alegre 2005: los nuevos desafíos en el proceso del FSM frente a la dominación y a la militarización neoliberal”, que contará con la participación de José Bové, integrante de Via Campesina y activista en la lucha contra la liberación de los transgénicos, Moema Miranda, coordinadora de Ibase, Miriam Nobre, integrante de la Marcha Mundial de las Mujeres, Teivo Teivanen, miembro de NIGD (Network Institute for Global Democracy), y Osvaldo León, miembro del Comité Organizador del Foro Social Américas. También estarán presentes otros miembros de la Secretaría del FSM, del Comité Organizador Brasileño, del Consejo Brasileño y del Consejo Internacional del FSM.

El evento inaugura también un nuevo proceso de movilización para 2005 – más amplio, participativo y democrático – y una nueva propuesta metodológica, sobre la cual se ha discutido en la reunión del Consejo Internacional del FSM, que se ha realizado entre el 4 y el 7 de abril de 2004, en Passignano sul Trasimeno, Italia.

La nueva metodología mantiene la diversidad del evento y, a la vez, busca transformarlo en un espacio cada vez más capaz de facilitar las articulaciones entre los participantes del proceso FSM. Para ello, el primer paso será la realización de una amplia consulta. A partir del 14 de junio, entidades, organizaciones, movimientos sociales y los diversos otros actores que participan en el proceso del FSM podrán expresar, a través de un cuestionario-consulta (el cual se dispondrá en el sitio FSM – www.forumsocialmundial.org.br), qué luchas, cuestiones, propuestas o desafíos a nivel mundial ellos consideran importante discutir en el evento de 2005, así como indicar las actividades que pretenden desarrollar en Porto Alegre. No se trata de inscribir actividades, sino de mapear los intereses de las diversas organizaciones y colectivos. Se prevé el inicio de las inscripciones de actividades para septiembre. El lanzamiento del FSM 2005 también se marcará por la movilización rumbo al Foro Social Américas, que se realizará en Quito, Ecuador, entre el 25 y el 30 de julio de 2004 (más informaciones: http://www.forosocialamericas.org).

El evento sucede a las 19h30, en el auditorio del Sindicato dos Engenheiros (Rua Genebra, no. 25, cerca del metro Anhagabaú y a la Cámara Municipal, en São Paulo).

IV Assemblea internacional
Benvolguts /benvolgudes,

Després d'haver llegit el mail enviat pels companys de França volem
expressar la nostra preocupació per l'endarreriment proposat per la IV
Assemblea (actualment s'està proposant que l'assemblea es dugui a terme
a Marsella durant tres dies a determinar entre el 12 de novembre i el 12
de desembre).
Des de l'assemblea de Barcelona creiem que cal recordar els acords
presos a l'assemblea de Xipre:

La IV Assemblea internacional es durà a terme a Marsella o a
Toulouse
- La IV Assemblea internacional es durà a terme a finals del
mes de setembre.

En aquest mateix sentit es va acordar un calendari de treball per a la
construcció del procés que implicava la celebració de 3 assemblees
internacionals abans del FSMed a Barcelona. Creiem que un nou
endarreriment de les dates no afavoriria el procés de construcció del
FSMed.

Per tant, proposem que en el termini d'una setmana els companys
francesos puguin manifestar la disponibilitat de dur a terme la IV
Assemblea segons els acords presos a Xipre. En cas contrari, creiem que
caldrà proposar nous emplaçaments per l'assemblea.

Dear friends,

After having read the e-mail sent to our colleagues in France, we would
like to express our worry about the delay proposed by the IVth Assembly
(it has been now proposed that the assembly be held in Marseille during
three days to be determined between 12 November and 12 December).
We at the Assembly in Barcelona believe that the agreements made at the
Cyprus Assembly should be recalled:
- The IVth International Assembly will be held in Marseille or in
Toulouse
- The IVth International Assembly will be held towards the end of
September.
An agreement was also reached on the working agenda for the construction
of the process and it included three international assemblies to be held
before the MedSF is held in Barcelona.
Therefore, we propose that our French colleagues let us know within a
week about their availability to carry out the IVth Assembly according
to the agreements reached in Cyprus. If it were not possible, we believe
new places for the Assembly to be carried out will have to be proposed.

Suite au mail reçu de la part des copains de France nous aimerons bien
de communiquer notre préoccupation pour la proposition de changement des
dates de la IV assemblée (maintenant ils sont en train de proposer
l'assemblée à Marseille pendant 3 jours à décider entre le 12 novembre
et le 12 décembre)

Depuis l'assemblée de Barcelone, nous croyons qu'il faut tenir compte
des accords de l'assemblée de Chypre:

- La IV assemblée internationale se tiendra à Marseille ou
Toulouse
- La IV assemblée internationale se tiendra pendant la fin du
mois de septembre.

Dans ce sens, on avait approuvé à Chypre un calendrier de travail pour
la construction du processus avec 3 assemblées internationales avant de
la célébration du FSMed à Barcelone. Nous croyons qu'un nouveau
changement de dates ne serait pas positif pour la construction du FSMed.

En conséquence, nous proposons aux copains français de communiquer la
disponibilité de célébrer la IV assemblée suite aux accords de Chypre.
Au contraire, nous croyons qu'il faudra proposer un nouveau lieu pour la
IV assemblée.

Después de haber leído el mail enviado por los compañeros de Francia
queremos expresar nuestra preocupación por la propuesta de retraso de
las fechas de la IV Asamblea internacional (actualment se está
proponiendo que se celebre en Marsella durante tres días a determinar
entre el 12 de Noviembre y el 12 de Diciembre).

Desde la Asamblea de Barcelona creemos que es necesario recordar los
acuerdos tomados durante la asamblea de Chipre:

- La IV Asamblea internacional se llevará a cabo en Marsella o
Toulouse.
- La IV Asamblea internacional se llevará a cabo a finales del
mes de Septiembre.

En este mismo sentido se acordó un calendario de trabajo para la
construcción del proceso que implicaba la celebración de 3 asambleas
internacionales antes de la celebración del FSMed en Barcelona. Creemos
que un nuevo retraso en las fechas sería positivo para la contrucción
del FSMed.

Por lo tanto, proponemos que en máximo una semana los compañeros
franceses nos puedan manifestar la disponibilidad de llevar a cabo la IV
Asamblea según los acuerdos tomados en Chipre. En caso contrario,
creemos que será necesario proponer nuevos sitios para celebrar la
asamblea.

Encuentro para la construccion del Foro Social Mediterraneo
Tetuán 12 de junio 2004

Se ha desarrollado en los ultimos años a escala internacional una dinámica social, que ha recibido un impluso fuerte a raiz del 1er Foro Social Mundial que se celebró en Porto Alegre (Brasil) en el año 2001, en la cual numerosas fuerzas sociales y organizaciones de la sociedad civil se han mobilizado en un movimiento de resistencia al neo-imperialismo y contra los efectos negativos de la mundialización sobre los pueblos del mundo y sobre los pueblos del sur en particular.

La constitución de Foros Sociales continentales, nacionales, locales se ha revelado necesaria para unificar las luchas y ayudar a la creación de coaliciones influyentes, partiendo de un denominador común entre las sociedades y los pueblos . El Foro Social Mediterraneo, que está previsto para junio 2005 en Barcelona, forma parte de esta dinámica. El proceso de construccion de este Foro social se ha iniciado con una 1a asamblea en Rabat los 3-4 de mayo 2003, luego se continuó con una 2a Asamblea en Napoles (Italia) los 4-6 de julio y una 3a en Chipre los 26-28 de marzo 2004.

En este marco, y como contribución a esta lucha común del Mediterráneo de todos los movimientos sociales,, la Asociacion Solidarida y desarrollo –Norte invita a todas las organizaciones de la región de Tetuán a participar a un encuentro de información y reflexión sobre el Foro Social Mediterraneo, previsto en Tetuan para el sabado 12 de junio de 2004 a partir de las 4 de la tarde en el Centro cultural francés , avenida Chakib Arsalan.

FSMed/ next international assembly
Meeting has been held in Marseille the 28th of may with Attac and trade unions to decide when, where and how the next international assembly will be held.
The organizations participating in this meeting will pass on
informations about the organization of the assembly at the latest the 25th of june.

The assembly will be organized on 3 days between the 12th of november and the 12th of december. It's impossible to organize it during october because of two reasons :

- preparation of the European Social Forum (15th of october),
- holding of a big event for all october in Marseille.

El 28 de mayo una reunion se celebro in Marseille entre organizaciones que van a preparar la proxima asemblea internacional del FSMed. Attac y sindicatos participaron en esta primera reunion pero el numero de organizaciones que se involucraron en esta preparacion va, desde luego,
a crecer.
La asemblea no se podra celebrar en el mes de octubre por motivo del Foro Social Europeo (media octubre) y de los "Docks" (la mas importante iniciativa en Marseille que se celebra durante todo el mes de octubre).
Se organizara en un final de semana (3 dias) entre el 12 de noviembre y el 12 de deciembre.

Estas organizaciones os informaron de las condiciones de organizacion a mas tardar el 25 de junio.
